Arsenal legend, William Gallas has reacted to claims that Chelsea ’embarrassed’ themselves by celebrating their Club World Cup victory.

However, the French former player, Gallas hit back at Burley when he said he was dumbfounded by the criticism.

The 44-year-old added that the players deserved to celebrate their successful efforts.

Gallas revealed this amidst speaking with Metro.co.uk on behalf of Bet365.

Gallas said:  “It’s another trophy to add to their honours. I think comments like this come from people who haven’t played the game. ‘If you play in any cup competition like the F.A Cup, League Cup, Club World Cup.”

“The players are all working so hard to get to the final and win, you want to celebrate the victory properly, as it’s never easy to win a cup competition, no matter what it is and who the competition are.”
