The German parliament has approved a new law intended to draw in highly qualified workers to the country.

It was understood that there was currently an unprecedented labor shortage in the country.

The law included a points-based system that lowers entry barriers for applicants based on their professional qualifications, age, and language skills.

One of the most important inputs was the “Opportunity Card” and its corresponding point system.

The card allows foreigners who do not have a pre-arranged job to come to Germany in search of work for one year.

To be eligible for the Opportunity Card, individuals must have a professional or college degree.

In addition to facilitating job search, the Opportunity Card also offers the possibility of working part-time for up to twenty hours per week and participating in trial jobs.

Also, immigrants with tourist visas were not required to leave the country before returning to work.
