A fatal helicopter crash in Ghana has killed all eight people on board, including two government ministers and other senior officials, the country’s military confirmed on Wednesday.
The Z-9 military helicopter, commonly used for transport and medevac operations, took off from Accra in the morning and was en route to Obuasi, a major gold-mining hub in the Ashanti Region, when it lost radar contact. The wreckage was later discovered in the Adansi area.

Four crew members also perished.
The government has described the crash as a “national tragedy,” and mourners were reported to have gathered at Boamah’s residence and the NDC party headquarters in Accra.
