Ghanaian Chef Arrested for Faking Guinness World Record

Ghanaian Chef

Ghanaian chef Ebenezer Smith, known as Chef Smith, has been arrested for falsely claiming a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Smith the Ghanaian Chef announced on social media that he had set a new world record with an 820-hour, 25-minute cooking marathon from February 1 to March 6, 2024.

However, Alina Polianskaya, Public Relations Executive for Guinness World Records, debunked Smith’s claim in an interview with the BBC. She stated, “No, this is not true at all. He does not hold the GWR title, and that is not our certificate.”
