Gospel singer Kenny Saint Brown, popularly known as KSB, has shared a spiritual perspective on the untimely death of Nigerian rapper Olayitan Oladapo, widely known as Dagrin.
Speaking on the Hoha podcast, KSB reflected on their 2010 collaboration, Turn Me Around, revealing that Dagrin’s verse focused solely on fame and material wealth, without asking for long life.
According to her, this omission may have played a role in his premature death.

“When he [Dagrin] died, I cried, because the prayer requests on that [Turn Me Around] song—God did it for him,” KSB said. “And I asked God what happened, He said go and listen to his Prayer Request, there is no long life there. He just said make I blow, ‘Mo fe ma gun Bentley,’ let everybody know me worldwide, and God granted everything.”
Dagrin died on April 22, 2010, at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), days after a car crash in Mushin, Lagos. Reports said he crashed into a stationary truck around 3 a.m., was found unconscious by police, and later succumbed to his injuries.
Widely regarded as a trailblazer of indigenous rap in Nigeria, Dagrin’s music enjoyed even greater acclaim following his tragic passing.
