The Gombe State Government has offered the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) N947,669,909.13 million to address their demands and avert a strike.

The offer was made by Governor Muhammadu Yahaya during a visit by the ASUU National Executive Council visitation panel to the Gombe State Government House.

The government promised to meet the demands for Earned Academic Allowance and other allowances by Monday.

The governor pleaded with ASUU to shelve plans to proceed on strike, assuring that the issues would be tackled and given expedited attention.

ASUU has been demanding the implementation of the Memorandum of Action signed with the government in 2020, including the payment of Earned Academic Allowance, excess workload allowance, and promotion arrears.
