Many goods have been destroyed following a fire breakout at an LG electronics store in Lagos state.

According to reports,the incident, which reportedly happened at Abule Osun, Trade Fair around midnight on Sunday, August 11, destroying lots of goods worth millions of naira.

 

Confirming the incident in a statement released by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency through its Head of Public Affairs Unit, Nosa Okunbor said a distress call was received around 12:15 am, and ita operatives arrived at the scene 25 minutes later to extinguish the fire.

The statement read,

“The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency received distress calls through the 767/112 toll-free emergency lines at 00:15 hours and activated the Lagos State Emergency Response Plans.

“Upon arrival of the Dolphin Response Team from LASEMA’s Igando Base at 00:40 hours, a raging fire was discovered at the LG office located at the aforementioned address.”

 

The major warehouse has been severely damaged by the fire. However, through the effective collaborative efforts of the Agency’s LRT, LRU Fire Unit, the Lagos State Fire & Rescue Service, the Federal Fire Service, and other primary responders, the fire has been contained and prevented from spreading to adjacent structures, including other warehouses, a gas station, diesel tankers, expatriate quarters, and other adjoining buildings.

“The joint response team is still actively engaged in combating the fire.”

 

The cause of the fire is yet to be identified
