The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, through its spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, said it has begun payment of salaries for public workers in the state.
This follows concerns that certain agencies were sticking to their timetables despite the governor’s instruction.
Rasheed said salary payments have started, beginning with the Ministry of Justice.

The governor hence threatened to penalise any ministry, department, or agency that failed to submit its salary schedule.
This development was contained in a statement in Osogbo on Monday.
It read in part:
“Any ministry, department, or agency that fails to submit its salary schedule by today’s deadline will be sanctioned. Any agency head that obstructs the process of scheduling will face disciplinary procedures.
“This warning is in response to reports that some agencies are still holding to their agency’s schedules despite the directive of His Excellency.
“Governor Ademola Adeleke had last week directed the immediate conclusion of documentation for the payment of salaries. This was a consequence of a report that about 45 agencies are yet to submit their payment schedule. Presently, the payment of salaries is ongoing, starting with the Ministry of Justice.”
