Gov Diri Hails Supreme Court Judgement as Victory for Truth, Justice

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has hailed the Supreme Court’s judgment affirming his victory in the November 11, 2023 governorship election as a triumph of truth over falsehood and evil.

Speaking in Abuja after the apex court’s verdict, Diri stated that the victory is not only for him and his deputy but also for the people of Bayelsa State, whose choice has been validated by the courts.

According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, Governor Diri expressed his renewed hope in the judiciary and democracy, citing his victories in the courts as a testament to the forthrightness of the judiciary.

According to him, despite the challenges facing the country, the judiciary’s integrity has given him assurance that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

The Governor then called on Nigerians to remain hopeful for a better future, saying that his administration has made great progress and will continue to build on its achievements in his second term.

He promised to introduce new programs and policies that will benefit the people of Bayelsa State, consolidating on the gains made so far.
