Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, on Thursday, signed the 2024 budget into law.

The budget, N489,443,632,374.00 (Four Hundred and Eighty-Nine Billion, Four Hundred and Forty-Three Million, Six Hundred and Thirty-Two Thousand, Three Hundred and Seventy -Four Naira) was titled “Sustainable and Shared Prosperity.”

Diri explained that the budget reflected the government’s commitment to creating favorable conditions and opportunities for all Bayelsans.

The Governor appreciated the Speaker of the State House of Assembly and its members for prioritizing the people and swiftly passing the bill.

He also thanked the people of the state for endorsing his government for a second term.

He urged the state assembly, public servants, and the people to collaborate in implementing the government’s programs and projects.

Furthermore, the Governor signed the 2023 electricity bill into law to encourage private investments in power generation in Bayelsa State.
