Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has signed the state’s ₦971 billion 2025 Appropriation Bill into law, promising diligent implementation to achieve the state’s prosperity target.

The budget, tagged “Budget of Exponential Growth and Inclusive Prosperity,” allocates ₦837.9 billion for capital expenditures, representing 86 percent of the budget, and ₦133.1 billion for recurrent expenditure, representing 14 percent.

At the signing ceremony, Governor Mbah stated, “What we are witnessing here today is democracy in action. We christened our budget, ‘Budget of Exponential Growth and Inclusive Prosperity’, because it is at the heart of everything we do in the state.”

He emphasized the importance of education, noting that one-third of the budget is allocated to the sector. “If you have any intention to eradicate poverty, you have to make sure that the mind is educated.”

The Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Uchenna Ugwu, commended the Governor for the infrastructural developments in the state and assured the House’s continuous support for the government’s programmes and policies.
