Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has officially sworn in 30 commissioners, 25 elected local government chairmen and their deputies, along with members of boards and commissions, urging them to actively contribute to the delivery of his administration’s New Niger agenda. The ceremony, held at the Government House in Minna on December 12, 2025, emphasized dedication, experience, and collaboration in achieving sustainable growth for the state.

The swearing-in ceremony was administered by Justice Maimuna Abubakar of High Court 6, representing the Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik. Governor Bago emphasized that the appointments were made deliberately to ensure capable hands drive the New Niger agenda effectively.

“Our goal is to build a sustainable, prosperous, and egalitarian Niger State,” Governor Bago said. “These officials have been chosen based on their track records, and I am confident they will give their best in serving our people.”

Alhaji Abubakar Usman, Secretary to the State Government, urged the newly sworn-in officials to demonstrate commitment and integrity in their duties, highlighting that dedication is critical to the success of the New Niger agenda. He also confirmed that a retreat had been organised to orient appointees on the administration’s collective vision.

The newly appointed board members include key institutions such as the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board, Secondary Education Board, and the Law Reform Commission.
