The Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri has appointed the Chief of Staff (CoS), and the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), including two other positions for the state’s house.
In a press release by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Daniel Alabrah, Diri appointed Dr Peter Pereotubo Akpe as the CoS of the state’s Government House.
Prof Nimibofa Ayawei was bestowed with the SSG position.
The Governor also appointed Mr Irorodamie Komonibo as the new Deputy Chief of Staff (DCoS).
Ayawei, who is now the SSG, is a technocrat, public servant, and university teacher.
He was previously the executive chairman of the Bayelsa State Board of Internal Revenue, a position he held since 2016.
For Alabrah, he retained his position as CPS from the Governor’s first tenure.
The statement added that their appointments take effect immediately.
