Gov’s Nephew, Security Officers Die in Auto Crash

Amadu Ali, the nephew of Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, including two security men, identified as Nura Sufyanu and Kabir Ali, have reportedly died.

The trio was said to have lost their lives in a motor accident at Gadar Tsuntsaye, in the Musawa Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the victims, along with others, were on their way to the governor’s hometown, Kafur, for Saturday’s governorship and state House of Assembly elections.

Masari’s Director General of Social Media, El-Amin Isa, and the spokesman for the Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the accident, which happened on Friday.

Isah said:

The accident happened on Friday night. The victims were going to Kafur, the governor’s hometown for the governorship and state House of Assembly elections. We have taken the bodies of the victims to Katsina.”

A source said the accident was caused by the bad road in the area.

A source said:

The victims were about to get to a bridge in the area on Friday night when they ran into the bad portion of the road, which forced the vehicle they were traveling in to skid and somersault, leading to their death.”

Reports held the three others, who sustained injuries in the accident, initially received treatment at the General Hospital, Malumfashi, before they were evacuated to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina.

The police spokesman said the bodies of the dead passengers were taken from the scene to a morgue in Katsina and arrangements had already begun for their burial on Saturday.
