Former military head of state, Yakubu Gowon has urged Nigerians not to give up on the country in spite of the prevalent insecurity.

Gowon who spoke on Saturday at a ceremony to mark the 23rd anniversary of the Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN) in Abuja, said the situation is just a phase which the country will eventually overcome, saying current state of insecurity and instability is “only a passing phase that will not be with us forever”.

He, however pleaded with Nigerians to support president Muhammadu Buhari in the fight against Insecurity.
