Grammy-Nominated Producer Andrew Vibez Reveals He Once Charged N500 for Music Production

Andrew Vibez

Grammy-nominated producer Andrew Vibez has revealed that he used to charge as little as N500 for his services when he was a struggling producer. Despite being the son of legendary musician Sir Victor Uwaifo, Vibez faced many challenges on his path to success.

In the third episode of the ‘Made By Us’ docuseries, Vibez shared, “When I started producing music, I charged N500. My dad never introduced me to anyone in the industry. He wasn’t the kind to hold your hand and guide you.”

Vibez’s career took off after meeting Don Jazzy, who signed him to Mavin Records. He has since produced global Afrobeats hits like Rema and Selena Gomez’s ‘Calm Down’ and Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’. His work on ‘Rush’ earned him a Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 2024 Grammys.
