Grandma Who Set Son, Daughter-in-law, Grandchildren Ablaze is Dead

The 73-year-old grandmother, Iforiti Oloro who set her son, Victor, daughter-in-law, Rachael and her two grandchildren ablaze in Ondo State is dead.

The septuagenarian was said to have given up the ghost while receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Owo.

Daily Report Nigeria reported earlier that Iforiti set her son ablaze alongside his wife and thier two children over an alleged claim that she had been starved of food.

The incident happened at Aponmu community in Akure South Local Council Area of the state.

It was said that the grandmother who was labelled a witch in the community, was also affected by the fire.

Five days after the incident, she was said to have been taken to the hospital for treatment after she was locked up in one of the rooms by her children.

Iforiti died at the hospital during treatment as she was said to have confessed to planning to kill only her daughter-in-law, whom she had accused of staving her.

According to a resident of the community, Iforiti had earlier confessed that she never knew that her son and grandchildren would be affected by her action.

Iforiti had allegedly set the house ablaze while the family was fast asleep.

Some neighbours broke into the house through the window to rescue the family of four, after which they were taken to Federal Medical Center, Owo.

Upon arrival at the medical facility, the son and his wife died while the children were still receiving treatment.
