It was announced yesterday that Great Britain has been divested of the silver medal it won in the men’s 4×100m relay at last year’s Tokyo Olympics.
Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) found Chijindu Ujah guilty of a doping violation.
In August 6th, 2021, the 27-year-old tested positive for S-23 ostarine commonly used for building muscles.

British came behind Italy who won the gold medal in the men’s 4×100 metres relay final.
However, Canada will grab the silver award from British following its disqualification.
China now advanced to the bronze-medal place.

CAS statement substantiated that Ujah was “found to have committed an anti-doping rule violation.”
“Ujah is sanctioned with the disqualification of his results in the 4x100m sprint relay final… together with the forfeiture of any medals, diplomas, points and prizes.”
Although, Ujah didn’t deny the charge, he claimed he inadvertently consumed it.
He therefore, made an apology to his teammates including Richard Kilty, Zharnel Hughes and Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake.
