The coalition of 18 associations under the auspices of Arewa Lives Matter, has declared its determination to occupy the House of Assemblies in the 19 Northern states until the government takes a stand towards putting an end to the issue of insecurity in the northern region.

Bilai Adamu, the leader of the group, said their decision to occupy the Kaduna state house of assembly is a result of the inaction by government to protect lives and property in the face of insecurity in Northern Nigeria.
As early as 7.30am on Tuesday, the group had occupied the entrance to the Kaduna State House of Assembly, expectating the House to hold plenary after failing to do so in two weeks.

The protesters had men of the Nigerian Police Force to vie with when they tried to enter the premises of the Assembly complex.
The leader of the group, Bilal Adamu, declares that the struggle will continue until they get a positive response as the government has decided to feign ignorance to the security issues affecting the Northern part of the country.
