Nigerian trumpeter Joshua Olusanya, popularly known as Trumpet Influencer, has officially entered the Guinness World Records for achieving the Longest Marathon Playing the Trumpet, following a previously disqualified attempt in 2024.
Olusanya received confirmation from Guinness World Records via email, which stated: “Dear Joshua Olusanya, we are thrilled to inform you that your application for Longest Marathon Playing the Trumpet has been successful and you are now the Guinness World Records Title Holder!”
The message concluded with the iconic phrase: “Congratulations, you are Officially Amazing!”

He shared his joy on Instagram through his handle, #officialbossboss, thanking fans and supporters who stood by him after his earlier setback.
“Official! I’m honoured to announce that I’ve set the First-ever Guinness World Record for the Longest Marathon Playing the Trumpet! A dream we collectively fought for. Thank you, Nigeria! We made history together,” he wrote.
His first attempt on February 23, 2024, lasted 24 hours and 46 minutes but was disqualified. Guinness World Records explained in a message dated May 19, 2024, that the attempt violated specific guidelines due to a break in performance to drink water.
The disqualification email stated:
“We are writing to you with reference to your record attempt for Longest Marathon Playing the Trumpet. As referenced in the guidelines, rest breaks are the only time the claimant can take a bathroom break or sleep during the attempt. They may consume food and drink while the record is in progress, but this must not disrupt the flow of the attempt. As the participant drank water during the attempt, where the performance was disrupted, the attempt has been disqualified.”
It continued:
“Whilst we fully appreciate that this is not the decision you were hoping for, we trust that you will understand our position.”
Olusanya has said that beyond breaking records, his mission is to raise awareness for instrumental musicians, promote music education, and inspire young talents to chase their goals with passion and persistence.
