Guinness World Records Receives 1,500 Applications from Nigerians in 60 Days

The Guinness World Records has confirmed it received an impressive number of applications, specifically 1,500, from individuals in Nigeria.

The swell in applications followed the remarkable achievement of chef Hilda Baci, who successfully broke the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Hilda’s accomplishment garnered widespread attention and inspired many Nigerians to attempt their own record-breaking feats.

In May, Hilda cooked for an astounding 100 hours, surpassing the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set by Indian chef Lata Tondon in 2019.

The British reference book certified Hilda’s achievement in June, acknowledging her time of 93 hours and 11 minutes, even after identifying certain areas for improvement during the attempt.

The record attempts have spanned various activities, including kiss-a-thons, massaging, lecturing, praise and worship, crying marathons, and even sex-a-thons.

The enthusiasm and determination displayed by Nigerians in pursuing these records, according to GWR was truly commendable.
