Gunmen Abduct 8 Women On Their Way To Church On Sunday

A group of unknown gunmen has reportedly abducted eight women on their way to church on Sunday morning in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The Chairman of Community Policing Relation in Kankara LGA, Bello Bello told Vanguard the victims were all females.

Bello however debunked earlier reports by the Senior Special Assistant on Christian Affairs, Rev Ishaya Jurau stating that the incident occurred inside the New Life Church located at Gidan Haruna.

Another source also stated that those abducted included six married women and two single ladies but claimed that the attack took place within the church premises.

The source also stated that the attackers also beat up a pastor in the process.

He said:

“The bandits came to the church riding on nine motorcycles and surrounded the church. Then they started forcing the members out of the church but the Pastor tried to prevent them. So, they beat him up and broke his leg before disappearing with the six married women and two single ladies from the church premises.”

The source added that they were being harassed daily by the bandits and would love to leave the community.
