Gunmen Abduct APC Chairman, Son in Cross River

Unknown gunmen have reportedly abducted the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikom Local Government Area, Mr Mathew Egomo, and his son in Cross River State.

It was said that the abduction occurred on Sunday along the Ikom-Ogoja Road, near the Ikom council secretariat.

The Special Adviser to the governor on security matters, Mr Patrick Bassey confirmed the incident and urged residents to establish vigilance groups to support the police in combating crime.

The State Police Command’s Deputy Public Relations Officer (DPRO), Igiri Ewa stated that the kidnapping has not been officially confirmed.

However, Ewa assured that the Police Force will mobilize efforts to rescue the victims.
