Gunmen Attack A Community Behind MOPOL Barrack

A police officer has been killed by some unknown gunmen who invaded the house of a senior customs officer.

The invasion was reported to have happened in Jalingo, capital of Taraba State.

The custom officer identified as Abbas Bello, was said to have been invaded around 2am on Thursday, August 19, and policemen who are in charge of security of the residence engaged the bandits in a gun dwell, leading to the death of a sergeant identified as Sergeant Ogedi Habu.

Another police inspector identified as Ibrahim Joseph, reportedly got injured during the invasion.

Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Abdullahi Usman confirmed the incident, saying the state police Commissioner, Abimbola Sokoya, had visited the family of the abducted customs officer.
