The campaign convoy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Enugu North/South Federal Constituency, Oforchukwu Egbo was attacked on Wednesday.

It was gathered that the incident happened at Eke-Otu in Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area of the state.

The driver of one of the buses in the convoy was killed during the attack and his body was burnt with the vehicle.

The development is coming after a similar attack on the Labour Party senatorial candidate for Enugu East senatorial district, Mr Oyibo Chukwu.

It was said that five of his supporters who were with him during the attack in Amechi on Wednesday evening were also killed.

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Chijioke Edeoga, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said the gunmen shot him inside his vehicle with five other people with him and set the car ablaze.
