The residence of suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, was attacked again on Tuesday night, marking the second armed assault on the property in 2025.

The arrested individual, identified as Suberu Jose—a native of the area and alleged ritualist—reportedly admitted to being involved in the attack and claimed this was his third attempt on the senator’s home. A cutlass and charms were recovered from him, while other members of the gang managed to escape.
According to eyewitnesses, Jose was nearly lynched by a mob before being rescued and taken into custody by the police.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s media office described the arrest as a major development in what appears to be a series of coordinated attacks against her. It also noted that no arrests were made following the previous attack on April 15.
The renewed assault follows ongoing political tensions. Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan is currently facing criminal charges filed by the Federal Government, shortly after she accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment—an allegation that preceded her controversial six-month suspension from the Senate.
Calling for calm, her team stated, “Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s commitment to truth and her people must not be silenced by threats or violence.”
Confirming the incident, Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, said, “It’s true that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s family house in Ihima was attacked yesterday (Tuesday). One suspect was arrested and is providing useful information to the police.”
He assured that the command is working to apprehend other suspects involved in the incident.
