Unknown gunmen on Wednesday, kidnapped Hajiya Zainab, the mother of Isyaku Ali-Danja, a Kano State House of Assembly member representing the Gezawa Constituency.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed the lawmaker’s mother’s home in Gezawa town around 1:00 a.m., broke down the door, and kidnapped her.
The lawmaker confirmed the kidnapping to journalists in Kano on Wednesday, saying the abductors had yet to contact the family.

He claimed that after her refusal, they forced open the door to her room and kidnapped her.
The lawmaker went on to say that as soon as the attackers left the house, one of the elderly woman’s caregivers raised the alarm, and police were called.
Ali-Danja is a former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly who now represents the Gezawa Local Government Area in the state legislature.
