In a brazen attack, a group of six gunmen kidnapped Aribibia Fubara, a senior director at the Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue, on Saturday.
It was learnt that the incident occurred at the Okrika Waterfront near the Marine Base in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The kidnappers arrived at the scene in a speedboat, firing gunshots into the air to disperse the crowd and create a sense of chaos.
They then swiftly and precisely targeted Fubara, whisking him away in what appears to be a well-planned and executed operation.

As of the latest reports, it is unclear whether the kidnappers have established contact with Fubara’s family or made any demands.

However, the police have swiftly responded to the incident, with the Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, directing specialized units to ensure Fubara’s safe release.
A spokesperson for the police, Grace Iringe-Koko, assured that a thorough manhunt has been launched to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice
Iringe-Koko stressed that the police are working tirelessly to resolve the situation and secure Fubara’s unconditional release.
