A recent gunmen attack has sent shivers down the spine of residents, as two individuals lose their lives in Kwara state.

The assailants wer said to have killed two police officers, kidnapping two others in the attack.
Unknown gunmen have struck a mining site in Kwara state, killing, destroying and abducting.
Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the incident occurred at a mining site at Oreke-Okeigbo in Ifelodun Local Government Area on Wednesday evening, June 4.

Confirming the incident, the Kwara state police command said two of its officers were killed, and two individuals including a Chinese national were kidnapped.
In the statement released, the Police Command spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, condemned, while asking residents to work with the government in apprehended the assailants, and also rescue the victims.
The statement reads:
“Information from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Oreke indicates that unidentified armed assailants invaded the mining facility, shooting and killing two police officers — ASP Haruna Watsai and Inspector Tukur Ogah of the 45 PMF, Abuja, who were on official protective duty. The attackers also carted away the rifles of the deceased officers.
In addition to the killings, the assailants abducted Mr. Sam Xie Wie, a Chinese national, and Mr. David Adenaiye, a native of Kogi State working at the mining site.”
Further developments will be communicated as investigations progress,” the statement added
