The 8th assembly of the Delta State House of Assembly will be inaugurated on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 by Governor Sheriff Oborwvwori, the immediate-past leader of the House.
The position has been zoned to the Delta South Senatorial District and the scramble to succeed Oborevwori has reached obvious heights.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that four elected members are working round the clock to get the position.
The contestants are; Emomotimi Guwor (Warri South West), Preyor Oboro (Bomadi), Emmanuel Sinebe (Patani) and Ferguson Onwo (Isoko South II), who recently joined the race

While Oboro is on his on fourth term in the assembly, Guwor, Sinebe and Onwo were all reelected for second term.

Owho and Oboro served as Majority Leader and Deputy Majority Leader of the 7th Assembly while Guwor served as Chairman House Committee on DESOPADEC.
Sinebe on the other hand, served as Chairman, House Committee on Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency.
The House members will elect their Speaker, Seputy Speaker and other principal officers immediately after their inauguration by Governor Oborevwori.
