Despite racing into a 2–0 lead and seeing Mallorca reduced to nine men after two quick first-half red cards, the 60-year-old manager said he was far from satisfied.
Lamine Yamal sealed the victory during stoppage-time with Gavi’s fine assist, but Flick felt the side relaxed when they should have kept pressing.
“These are three important points,” – the German manager said.
“but after going 2–0 up, and with the two red cards, I think my team played at 50 per cent. That can’t happen. I need to talk to the players about this. You can’t play at 50 per cent against nine players — that’s not what I expect.”
