After years of near-misses and heartbreak, Harry Kane finally has a trophy to his name.

On Sunday, Bayern Munich were officially crowned Bundesliga champions for a record-extending 34th time, handing the England captain the first major silverware of his career.

Kane, who was sidelined due to suspension, joined a group of Bayern teammates to watch the crucial match between Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg in Munich.

As the game ended in a 2-2 draw, Bayern’s title win was confirmed — and with it, Kane’s personal milestone.

Leverkusen’s Draw Hands Title Back to Bayern

Bayern’s thrilling 3-3 draw with RB Leipzig a day earlier meant the title race remained open, but only just.

Leverkusen needed nothing less than a victory to keep their slim hopes alive. However, despite a dramatic fightback, they fell short.

Freiburg went up 2-0 with goals from Maximilian Eggestein and an own goal by Piero Hincapie.

Leverkusen clawed their way back with a sensational solo strike from Florian Wirtz and a stoppage-time header from Jonathan Tah, but the elusive third goal never came.

That result left Bayern eight points clear at the top with only two matches remaining — mathematically out of reach.

Xabi Alonso Pays Tribute to Former Club

Leverkusen manager and former Bayern midfielder Xabi Alonso showed grace in defeat, acknowledging the strength of his old team.

> “Congratulations to Bayern. It’s a deserved championship. They were more consistent team over the season and they deserve the shield,” Alonso told DAZN.

His words highlighted Bayern’s relentless pursuit of excellence and their swift return to the top after last season’s setback.

Kane Set to Return for Trophy Presentation

While Kane didn’t feature in the Leipzig match, he’s expected to return this weekend when Bayern host Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The club will receive the Bundesliga shield after the final whistle — a ceremony Kane will finally take part in as a champion.

For the striker who left Tottenham in pursuit of silverware, this triumph carries immense personal significance. It’s more than a medal; it’s validation.

Leverkusen Face Uncertain Summer Ahead

With the title gone, Leverkusen’s focus now shifts to their star assets and managerial future.

Alonso, contracted until 2026, is strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid, where he enjoyed a glittering playing career.

Meanwhile, Florian Wirtz, one of Europe’s most exciting young talents, is reportedly on Bayern’s radar.

Jonathan Tah has already confirmed he’ll depart at the end of the season.

> “Too little intensity, we had too few runs in behind. It didn’t work today,” he admitted after the draw.

The German defender has drawn interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich, though his next move remains undecided.

Bundesliga Records and Champions League Race Heat Up

Despite the disappointment, Leverkusen extended their unbeaten away streak to 33 matches, matching a record previously held by Bayern.

Their ability to stay resilient on the road remains one of their biggest accomplishments.

Freiburg’s draw keeps them in fourth place, just ahead of Borussia Dortmund, as they chase their first-ever Champions League qualification.

Every point counts in the race for European football.

Kiel Fight On in Relegation Battle

In other Sunday action, Holstein Kiel kept their survival hopes alive with a crucial 3-1 win over Augsburg.

Two goals from Alexander Bernhardsson and a composed penalty from Shuto Machino moved them just one point behind Heidenheim, who sit in the relegation playoff spot.

A New Chapter Begins for Harry Kane

For Harry Kane, this Bundesliga title is more than just a trophy — it’s a turning point.

After years of carrying expectations and enduring near-misses at both club and international level, he now steps into a new phase of his career: as a champion.

And for Bayern Munich, reclaiming their Bundesliga crown serves as a reminder of their dominance and their hunger for more.
