His goal against Madrid also broke the record for the most goal contributions by an English player in a single Champions League season. With eight goals and three assists, his 11 contributions surpassed the record previously held by Steven Gerrard and David Beckham, each with 10.
Kane’s attention now turns to leading Bayern Munich to a win in the second leg of the semi-final against Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid next week.
