Heartland FC Coach Christian Obi Dies in Tragic Road Accident

Heartland FC have announced the tragic death of their head coach, Christian Obi, who was involved in a serious road accident on Friday.

The team was en route to Abakaliki for the TICO/SELECT Ifeanyi Ekwueme pre-season tournament when the accident occurred.

Christian Obi sustained a minor injury to his right leg and was initially unconscious when evacuated from the damaged bus. Unfortunately, he passed away at a nearby hospital in Okwelle, Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State.

His body has been taken to the Federal University Teaching Hospital (FUTH) morgue in Owerri. The injured members of the team are also receiving treatment at the same hospital.
