Trouble started for the accused when residents of the area who noticed the parked car became suspicious when they began to perceive an offensive odour from the vehicle.

They immediately reported the issue at Idiroko police divisional headquarters. On getting to the scene, the door of the car was forced open and the corpse of the deceased was discovered in the boot of the car.

The case was then transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation with a clear mandate to fish out the killers.

A CSP Femi Olabode-led team embarked on intelligence and technical-based investigation, which led to the arrest of the herbalist, Misipode Dosu, who was the last person seen with the deceased.

Oyeyemi explained that the suspect confessed during interrogation that the deceased contracted him for a money-making ritual, for which he charged him N300,000 which he paid N250,000.

According to the P.P.R.O, after some time, the deceased began pressuring Dosu that he had not seen the positive outcome of the ritual.

“Out of fear that the deceased might report him to the police for obtaining money from him under false pretences, he invited him over for the final stage of the ritual at Idiroko.

“On getting there, he gave him a concoction he prepared with a poisonous substance to eat, after eating the concoction, the man slumped and died.

“The suspect there and then put the deceased into the boot of his car, drove the car and parked it at the place where the corpse was discovered,” he said.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, has directed that the suspect be arraigned as soon as the investigation was concluded.
