It was a beehive of activities all through the week in the ancient town of Okpolo (Enhwe), Isoko Local Government Area of Delta state, when it was awakened and placed at a stand still, as High Chief Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore (JP) marked his 56th Birthday on January 6, 2022.

The celebration also coincided with the one year remembrance of his late father, Chief Papa Francis Omote Egukawhore.

Daily Report Nigeria gathered that gunmen had made an attempt on the life of the revered chief in the early hours of his birthday.

The assailants had attacked his Citadel, and shot sporadically. Only a swift intervention by men of the Nigerian Army prevented an unimaginable scenario.

The business tycoon proceeded to the St. Peters Church in Okpolo Ehnwe, Isoko South LGA of Delta State, alongside family members to thank God for the enablement to see a new year, and for the privilege to mark his birthday.

He also thanked God for the one year remembrance of his beloved dad, late Chief Papa Francis Omote Egukawhore, The Arure of Okpolo (Enwhe).

In his thanksgiving remark, the High chief noted how faithful God has been good to him throughout the previous year despite its tumultuous nature for most people globally.

He further noted that God saw him through in spite of the multiple challenges he faced last year.

He expressed his displeasure over the attack by the neighbouring community on his Citadel and feared he might stay away from his people if they continued to treat his presence with disdain and disrespect

The Marine Oxygen called on sons and daughters of Isoko nation to come together and sheath their sword to build bridges that will foster unity among themselves.

Chief Wayles added that only a united family can attract prosperity and enjoy the same in peace.

The event’s high point was Engr Daniel Omoyibo, the CEO of Dantinajo Gold Resort Hotel Ltd, donating the sum of N5 million to support a skill acquisition centre to be built by the St Peters Anglican Church.

He also helped 50 women in the church with 100,000 naira.

High Chief Wayles doubled the donations made by Engr Omoyibo as he thanked him for supporting the church and the people of the Okpolo Enwhen Community.
