Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reportedly escaped an attack on his person.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that Adeleke and other leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party were on Wednesday attacked at the Eid praying ground in Osogbo.
Chaos is said to have erupted when a group of hoodlums allegedly led by prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), took control of the section reserved for the governor.

The scenario escalated to an assault on Moruf Gangaria, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) representing Osogbo federal constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.

Governor Adeleke and entourage arrived at the venue in the heat of the commotion and was surrounded by the hoodlums.
The situation forced security personnel attached to the governor to quickly evacuate Adeleke from the venue, even as his attempt to reach the designated prayer point was impeded twice.
Politics Today reported that several prominent leaders of the PDP in Osogbo were subjected to molestation and physical assault during the unfortunate incident.
Meanwhile, details of the incident were not fully clear as of press time.
