The House of Representatives has directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to enforce the immediate shutdown of pornographic websites across the country.
This directive was issued during Tuesday’s plenary, with the lawmakers urging internet service providers to block access to such websites under the new mandate.

According to reports, the decision aims to address concerns over the impact of explicit content on society, especially among the youth.
Katsina Rep. Dalhatu Tafoki sponsored the motion, calling it a step to “protect societal values.” Tafoki’s motion was reportedly supported by other lawmakers, who emphasized the need to safeguard the moral fabric of the nation.
Telecom Tariff Hike: SERAP Sues Tinubu, NCC
The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has taken President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to court over the recent 50% telecom tariff hike.
The lawsuit, filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja, challenges the “arbitrary, unconstitutional, unlawful, unfair, and unreasonable” decision to increase telecom tariffs.
