Hunger Protest: Kano Police Arrest 392 Suspects Over Looting, Vandalism

The Kano State Police Command has announced the arrest of 392 individuals suspected of looting and vandalizing properties during the recent protests in the state.

According to Police Spokesman Abdullahi Kiyawa, the suspects were apprehended in connection with the looting of the NCC Industrial Park, Kano High Court, and other locations.

Kiyawa added that suspects were found with a large quantity of stolen items.

The newly built NCC park, which was scheduled for commissioning next week, was severely damaged, and its ICT center was set ablaze, according to reports.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with protesters carting away valuable appliances and equipment before setting the facility on fire.

Reacting to the violence, Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf imposed a 24-hour curfew across the state on Thursday.
