Hunter Shoots Self De@d While Hunting In Ogun

• An hunter has passed away, following a tragic accident in Ogun state.

• The hunter was said to have shot himself during an hunting session in the state.

Family members of an hunter in Ogun state have been thrown into a state of mourning, following his tragic demise.

According to reports, the hunter, identified as Taiwo Bolugbe allegedly shit himself dead while hunting with five others at Ajinawo area, near Dangote Cement Company, Ibese, Yewa North Local Government, Ogun State.

The incident was reported to have happened at about 4.30PM on March 23, 2025.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, CSP Omolola Odutola said fivekther hunters have been arrested in connection with the incident:

The accident occurred around 1500hrs when the victim, Taiwo Bolugbe, attempted to retrieve a hunted animal. His Dane gun reportedly slipped from his shoulder, discharged accidentally, and fatally struck him in the neck and lower jaw. He succumbed to his injuries despite efforts by fellow hunters to save his life.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation. The Police Command urges the public to exercise caution while handling firearms, even in hunting activities, to prevent tragic incidents.”Odutola said
