Daily Report Nigeria gathers that operatives of the Hisbah agency had, on Friday announced the arrest of Sankara after being found with a married woman following complaints by her husband.

Buba, through his counsel, Haruna Magashi, urged the court to investigate Sankara accused of inappropriate and immoral acts with a married woman

Reacting to this, the governor of Jigawa state, governor Umar Namadi suspended the commissioner from office, pending the completion of investigation.

The complainant, Alhaji Nasir Buba, has laid a formal complaint before this court that he is suspecting Awwal Sankara of committing an offence and therefore he wants the matter to be investigated,” the lawyer said.

Clearing the air, the counsel for the commissioner, Shehu Sadam noted that it was the husband of the woman that filed the report, and not the Hisbah, contrary to popular beliefs.

He said,

“We read so much news on the social media by Kano State Hisbah Board and the complainant is Alhaji Nasir Buba. We heard that the matter would be heard today (Monday) and so we were in court on behalf of our client.”

Neither the commissioner nor the married woman were in court

The judge, Khadi Abdullahi Sarki Yola, is expected to hear the matter on Tuesday.
