Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi has declared that he is not out to challenge the victory of Bola Tinubu at the February 25 presidential election.
According to Obi, he was challenging the process through which Tinubu was declared winner by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC.
The former Anambra governor stated this when he appeared on Arise Television’s This Morning show on Monday.

Obi noted that process through which a candidate gets elected is far more important than how that candidate performs in office and hence, the process must be excellent.
He said;
“I am not challenging who they declared, I am not challenging the outcome of the election, I am only challenging the process. And unless we do that, we are not going to stop the rascality witnessed in that election.
“The process through which people come into office is far more fundamental than what they do there thereafter.
“There is a process of doing things, there is a process of arriving at any destination and like I said in my press conference, if you are going to answer His Excellency, you process of coming into office must be excellent.”
2023 presidential election the worse in history
Meanwhile, Peter Obi also insisted that the 2023 presidential election will go down as the worst election in the country’s history.
The former Anambra State Governor, said the poll would probably be the worst election considering the flagrant abuse of the 2022 electoral law.
Obi, who already challenged the outcome of the election by filing suit at the presidential election petition tribunal, said;
“If you look at the last election, it is probably the worst election, considering in this particular republic, the 2022 electoral law which was meant to improve our overall election process and continued and consistent promises by the chairman of INEC that this is going to the best thing that will happen to Nigeria.”
