Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has declared himself the best governor Rivers State has ever had making reference to his intentional efforts to promote the state’s progress during his tenure.
Wike made this assertion on Friday at a luncheon he hosted in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Daily Report Nigeria gathers that this was in response to allegations by Peter Odili, a former governor of the state, that Wike had attempted to convert Rivers into his personal estate.
Odili had praised Siminalayi Fubara, the current governor of Rivers, for preventing Wike from achieving this goal.

However, Wike countered these claims, emphasizing his contributions to the state’s development, particularly in the medical sector. “I paid money for Rivers people to be medical doctors. I am trying to make Rivers state the medical hub of south-south Nigeria,” he said.
Wike further denied the allegations, questioning how he could have converted the state into his personal estate.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, has knocked Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara over recent attacks on his principal.
Daily Report Nigeria recalls that Fubara, who had been engaged in face-off with Wike, said on Thursday that he had endured enough insult from Wike’s camp and would tolerate no more.
