Brazilian football legend Pele has reacted to the demise of his fellow football great Diego Maradona, who died on Wednesday following a cardiac arrest.

The renowned Argentine World Cup-winning captain died of a heart attack, after undergoing brain surgery earlier this month.

The 80-year-old Pele took to twitter to mourn over Maradona’s death.

He wrote;
“What sad news. I lost a great friend and the world lost a legend. There is still much to be said, but for now, may God give strength to family members.

“One day, I hope we can play football together in the sky.”

Argentine Football Association President, Alberto Fernandez has announced three days national mourning in honor of the Napoli ans Barcelona legend.
