Nigerian street-pop sensation Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, says he is ready to go back to school so he can better understand the business side of his fast-growing music career.
The Zazoo Zehh hitmaker revealed this in a new video posted on Instagram, explaining that experience alone is not enough when handling contracts, royalties, and investments.

Portable said he already holds a National Diploma from Kwara State Polytechnic, but believes getting more education will help him run his record label, Zeh Nation, with structure and accountability. According to him, fame comes with responsibilities, and those responsibilities require knowledge.
In his words, “I don’t want stories in future like ‘Portable didn’t go to school.’ I sponsor people, I take care of children. I want to understand my royalties and business deals myself. Going back to school will help me manage Zeh Nation properly.”
He stressed that the goal isn’t to collect another certificate to hang on the wall — it’s about equipping himself to make smarter decisions, monitor contracts, and reduce the chances of being cheated by industry professionals.
Portable has been in the spotlight not only for his music but for controversies surrounding his outspoken personality. Earlier this year, he was involved in a legal battle with Fuji star Saheed Osupa, who accused him of defamation and copyright infringement. After public interventions by notable Nigerians, Osupa agreed to drop the case on the condition that Portable retract his statements and avoid online harassment.

His year also included a clash with officials of the Ogun State Government, leading to the sealing of his hotel project and arrest of several of his associates. Portable later appeared in a video asking for forgiveness and eventually surrendered to the police.
Despite these incidents, the singer insists he is focused on growth. Returning to school, he says, is part of that transformation.
“I want to understand everything about my business myself,” he said. “No one can run Zeh Nation better than me.”
