Nigerian singer and rapper, Lil Kesh, has shared his thoughts on the challenges of achieving fame at a young age, calling the experience “overwhelming.”
In a recent interview on The Esther Show, which was uploaded on X on Sunday, the ‘Young And Getting It’ hitmaker opened up about the pressures of rising to stardom as a teenager.
“Making it big early felt overwhelming. I blew at a very tender age. I was 19 when I got signed,” Lil Kesh recalled. “I had just turned 20 when I had ‘Shoki.’ So, imagine being in the spotlight that early. I feel like that is not talked about so much.”

He also gave a shout-out to global pop stars like Justin Bieber, who have been open about their struggles with early fame. “Shoutout to people like Justin Bieber who was vulnerable enough to tell his story. I went through things similar to that,” he said.
Reflecting on the sacrifices that came with early success, Lil Kesh admitted that he missed out on certain life experiences, which he felt he should have gone through before being thrust into the limelight.
“Coming to the spotlight at a very early age, I was also deprived of a lot of things; life experiences that I should have learned before. I was put in a high position at such an early stage. It was overwhelming trying to handle all of that,” he explained.
