Controversial Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu has apologised to music star Davido, admitting that he was paid ₦2.5 million to ridicule the singer, his wife, and his family on social media.

Speaking during a recent interview, the actor said Davido had never wronged him in any way and that his actions were purely motivated by money.

According to Maduagwu, he was not alone in the scheme, explaining that he was part of a group of five influencers who were paid to consistently criticise and mock the singer online.

He added that his conscience would no longer allow him to remain silent, describing his behaviour as wrong and unfair.

“I want to use this opportunity to apologise to Davido. I was paid to ridicule you, your wife, and your family on social media,” Maduagwu said.

“I collected ₦2.5 million to do it. We were about five influencers. I am truly sorry. Please forgive me.”

The actor also urged others involved in the online attacks to speak up, apologise, and take responsibility for their actions.
