Kylian Mbappe rejected a Real Madrid move after agreeing to extend his contract with the French giants on a 3 year deal.
After a reported agreement had been reached with Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid over a potential transfer to the Santiago Benabeu ending a long transfer saga between the parties, Mbappe made a U-turn to sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
The decision of the French star to extend his deal with Paris Saint-Germain and reject Real Madrid shocked many football lovers, fans and players as well.
In an interview with RMC Sport, Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte also shared his thoughts.
Laporte stated that he was surprised to see the 23-year-old remain with the French giants and turn down the advances from Los Blancos since not many players say no when they come knocking.
The Manchester City defender was also asked about the appointment of Christophe Galtier as PSG manager and how other significant clubs across Europe are seeing this hiring since it’s out of the norm by PSG’s standards.
“Any coach is credible to arrive at PSG or in a major European team. There is always a little trick, something to be wary of. We, as City, have to watch our performance, and no one can beat us,” Laporte said.
