There were political drama on Thursday as four lawmakers from the Labour Party (LP) in the House of Representatives crossed over to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defectors include Tochukwu Okere (Imo), Donatus Mathew (Kaduna), Bassey Akiba (Cross River), and Iyawe Esosa (Edo).
In a recent development, Erthiatake Ibori-Suenu, the daughter of former Delta State Governor James Ibori, also ended her affiliation with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the APC.

Confirming the defection, Matthew, who represents Kaura Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, explained that his decision was driven by personal conviction.

“I am taking this decision based on conviction.That is why, whether you like it or not, there are people within the constituency who are convinced that it is the right decision for them. There are those who are skeptical, waiting for the outcome,” he added.
