In his inaugural lecture, Tijani emphasized the importance of seeking immediate specialist care for surgical intervention, as a delay of more than 24 hours can result in permanent erectile dysfunction.
Tijani also discussed other topics related to men’s reproductive health, including hypospadias, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, penile fracture, priapism, and male infertility.
He highlighted the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of these conditions to prevent long-term complications.
The professor also recommended that health workers dealing with newborns and infants should be trained on how to examine and identify abnormalities of the external genitalia.
Also, he suggested that boys should be immunized against the Mumps virus before puberty to prevent complications such as infertility.
